Impact-Resistant and Fireproof Boards Based on Inorganic Fibers

IZOFLOX composite boards are an advanced thermal insulation material made from inorganic fibers and a heat-resistant binder. Unlike traditional insulation boards and fiber-based cartons, these plates offer high mechanical strength and resistance to impact, bending, and vibration. They retain their shape and integrity even under prolonged exposure to high temperatures, making them an ideal solution for metallurgy, power generation, and other demanding industrial environments.

Sustainability at the Core

IZOFLOX boards are manufactured using non-organic waste from our primary production processes. Instead of discarding valuable mineral-based residues, we repurpose them into high-performance insulation materials.

This approach not only reduces industrial waste, but also lowers the environmental footprint of our operations — turning by-products into durable, non-combustible, and long-lasting solutions for extreme thermal environments.

Product Line

The IZOFLOX product line offers two high-performance composite boards, tailored for different thermal and mechanical demands:

IZOFLOX-10B – Glass Fiber-Based Board
Reinforced with glass fibers and mineral fillers, IZOFLOX-10B provides excellent mechanical strength and impact resistance. Suitable for temperatures up to +550 °C, it combines insulation and structural durability in one solution.

IZOFLOX-20B – Ceramic Fiber-Based Board
Designed for extreme environments, IZOFLOX-20B withstands continuous exposure above +1000 °C. It delivers reliable thermal protection and maintains stability under high heat.

Thermal Performance

The diagram below illustrates the general relationship between mechanical strength and operating temperature for IZOFLOX boards.

Please note that the effect of exposure time is not reflected in the chart. While the boards can withstand the indicated temperatures, prolonged exposure to values near the upper limit may lead to gradual degradation of mechanical strength due to thermal fatigue.

For applications involving continuous high-temperature conditions, a sufficient safety margin should be considered when selecting the appropriate board type.

Mechanical Strength

We conducted a comparative bending test using the three-point method, a standard approach in engineering practice. Although the test was not certified, it provided a clear basis to evaluate the strength of traditional insulation boards—both formed and calendared—against our rigid IZOFLOX-10B and IZOFLOX-20B boards.

IZOFLOX 3-point test result

A key advantage of IZOFLOX composite boards is their high mechanical strength, which sets them apart from conventional insulation cartons. While pressed and calendered fiber-based boards are typically brittle from the outset and require structural support or confinement within closed assemblies (such as gaskets or refractory linings), IZOFLOX boards are mechanically self-sufficient. Their enhanced integrity allows them to serve as standalone structural elements — for example, in the construction of fireproof cabinets, enclosures, or load-bearing insulation panels.

Technical Advantages of IZOFLOX Boards

Resistance to Open Flame

The boards are resistant to direct flame exposure. They do not support combustion and do not emit smoke, soot, or fumes when heated.

Thanks to their low thermal conductivity, the boards can serve both as a fire barrier and as an effective thermal insulation component in various constructions.

IZOFLOX Thermal Conductivity

When exposed to splashes of molten metal, the boards retain their structural integrity and insulating performance, suffering no significant damage.

IZOFLOX boards demonstrate exceptional mechanical durability.

Thanks to their layered composite structure, they resist deformation under load and withstand impact and bending far better than conventional thermal insulation boards and millboards. Ideal for demanding industrial environments.

IZOFLOX boards are available not only as flat panels, but also in custom profiles and shapes — including rings, sleeves, tubes, and more. Non-standard components can be manufactured according to customer drawings or supplied samples.

While the dielectric properties of the boards have not been formally tested or certified, all components used in their composition are, by their nature, electrical insulators.

How to Place an Order

To ensure fast and accurate processing of your request, please provide the following information:

  1. Product type (sheet or shaped part, name or code)
  2. Dimensions (length × width × thickness, or external/internal diameters for shaped parts)
  3. Quantity
  4. For custom shapes: drawings or samples

Understanding the Product Code

The product code for IZOFLOX boards is straightforward. By default, the boards are supplied as flat sheets. Simply indicate the board grade and dimensions in the format L × W × T, where L is length, W is width, and T is thickness.

For shaped parts, please provide technical drawings or a sample for accurate production.

Product Code Structure

IZOFLOX – XXB – L x W x T

XX – type of board (10B or 20B)

L – lenght

W – width

T – thickness
