THERMAL TAPES FOR EXTREME HEAT AND FLAME PROTECTION

IZOLTEX woven tapes are engineered for effective thermal insulation and edge protection in high-temperature environments, including areas with open flame exposure.
Manufactured from heat-resistant yarns such as fiberglass, basalt, ceramic fiber, or high-silica yarn, these tapes combine excellent temperature resistance with high mechanical stability. Depending on the application, they can be supplied with or without silicone or vermiculite coatings.

IZOLTEX tapes are widely used for sealing, wrapping, and insulating flanges, pipes, cables, expansion joints, and furnace doors in metallurgy, power generation, glass production, and other heavy industries. Their flat profile, fray-resistant edges, and flexibility make them suitable for both static and dynamic applications where heat and flame protection are critical.

Thermal Strength — The Foundation of Reliability

The resistance of fibers to high temperatures determines the performance and service life of insulation and sealing products. The chart provides a clear comparison of how glass, basalt, aramid, carbon, ceramic, and silica fibers behave under heat. This data helps identify the optimal material for applications where reliability under extreme temperatures is critical.

Technical specifications are for reference only. Actual performance may vary depending on chemical exposure, temperature shocks, and mechanical loads such as compression or friction. Values are based on ideal lab conditions — always assess real application factors before use.

Mounting Options

ZOLTEX tapes can be installed in several ways depending on the application requirements:

  1. Overlap Wrapping or Compression Mounting
For applications such as wrapping hoses, pipes, or insulating flanges, the tape can be applied in an overlapping manner or simply compressed between two surfaces (e.g., flanges or panels). In these cases, no additional fasteners or adhesives are needed — the mechanical pressure holds the tape securely in place during operation.
  2. Adhesive Layer (Type “K”)
If easier installation is required, we can apply an adhesive layer to one side of the tape. Products with adhesive backing are marked with the letter “K” in the product code (e.g., IZOLTEX-50K). The adhesive is helpful for initial positioning but is not heat-resistant and will evaporate at high temperatures. Therefore, it serves only as a temporary aid during installation.
  3. High-Temperature Adhesive (IHTG)
For permanent bonding, we offer IHTG, our proprietary high-temperature adhesive resistant to temperatures up to +1200 °C. This solution ensures reliable fixation of the tape in dynamic or high-vibration environments where mechanical pressure alone may not be sufficient.

How to Place an Order

To ensure we process your order quickly and accurately, please provide the following information:

  1. Tape type (product name or code)
  2. Width
  3. Thickness (if applicable)
  4. Cut length (if needed)
  5. Quantity

Understanding the Product Code

Each IZOLTEX tape has a unique product code that reflects its key technical characteristics.
This code helps you quickly identify the right tape for your application, based on material, dimensions, and any additional treatments.

IZOLTEX-XXK-Y-Z

XX – tape type

K – added to the product code if adhesive backing is required

Y – thickness

Z – width
