IZOPACK
Over-Braid
Cords

Soft-core design
Flexible form
Reliable thermal barrier

Flexible cords with soft ceramic or basalt core and braided high-temperature jacket.
Over-braided cords combine a compressible fiber core—typically made of ceramic wool or basalt—with a protective braided sheath made of various high-temperature yarns. This structure ensures excellent thermal insulation, low heat conductivity, and outstanding flexibility under load.

One of the key applications of these cords is their use as impact dampers between kiln cars in tunnel kilns. Installed along the contact edges, they absorb shocks and vibrations as the cars move through the firing chamber, reducing mechanical stress and preventing structural damage during high-temperature operation.

In addition, over-braided cords are used for sealing furnace doors, inspection hatches, and expansion joints where flexibility and temperature resistance are essential. Their proven performance under thermal cycling, chemical exposure, and mechanical pressure makes them a reliable solution for harsh industrial environments—including metallurgy, power generation, and refractory systems.

FIBER STRENGHT VS. TEMPERATURE

Thermal Strength — The Foundation of Reliability

The resistance of fibers to high temperatures determines the performance and service life of insulation and sealing products. The chart provides a clear comparison of how glass, basalt, aramid, carbon, ceramic, and silica fibers behave under heat. This data helps identify the optimal material for applications where reliability under extreme temperatures is critical.

Technical specifications are for reference only. Actual performance may vary depending on chemical exposure, temperature shocks, and mechanical loads such as compression or friction. Values are based on ideal lab conditions — always assess real application factors before use.
