Galvanizing Wipes
IZOWIPE

WIRE WIPES FOR PRECISE ZINC COATING

IZOWIPE braided wire wipes are developed for precise and stable operation in hot-dip galvanizing lines. Produced from high-temperature resistant yarns such as fiberglass, Kevlar®, or basalt, and impregnated with PTFE and special resins, they ensure durability, dimensional stability, and clean wire wiping during zinc coating.

IZOWIPE wipes are applied in galvanizing baths to remove excess molten zinc from the wire surface, providing uniform coating thickness and reducing zinc consumption. Their reinforced braided structure, combined with protective impregnation, delivers consistent performance, extended service life, and reliable operation under extreme thermal and mechanical conditions.

FIND THE RIGHT WIPING PAD FOR YOUR PROCESS

Our wiping pads are divided into three categories based on their material composition, performance, and intended application: Premium for extended service life, Optima for cost-effective performance, and Experimental for testing innovative materials and manufacturing techniques.

premium

Premium wiping pads feature a high-strength aramid outer braid and a thermally insulating core. They offer excellent abrasion resistance and extended service life under continuous operating conditions.

STANDARD VERSION

IZW-35

Conventional aramid braid with PTFE impregnation and a thermally insulating core.

  • High abrasion resistance
  • Extended service life
  • Reliable wiping performance
  • Balanced price-to-performance ratio
IZW-35

ENHANCED PTFE

IZW-35P

Texturized aramid braid designed for increased PTFE absorption and retention.

  • Increased PTFE absorption
  • Improved fiber cohesion
  • Enhanced structural stability
  • Improved impregnation uniformity

GRAPHITE COATED

IZW-35G

Additional wax treatment and graphite coating for initial friction reduction.

  • Reduced initial friction
  • Improved surface lubricity
  • Additional graphite lubrication
  • Reduced initial mechanical wear

OPTIMA

COST-EFFECTIVE WIPING FOR SCHEDULED PRODUCTION STOPS

OPTIMA wiping pads are made entirely from fiberglass yarns, offering a cost-effective solution for galvanizing lines with regularly scheduled production stops.

Regardless of their composition, all wiping pads gradually lose their effectiveness during operation, potentially resulting in uneven or excessively thick zinc coatings. More frequent replacement helps maintain consistent coating quality and control zinc consumption.

With their affordable price and shorter service life, OPTIMA pads are particularly suitable for production lines where replacements can be performed during scheduled stops, without additional downtime.

STANDARD VERSION

IZW-50

Fiberglass construction with PTFE impregnation, combining thermal resistance with an economical price.

  • Cost-effective alternative to aramid
  • High thermal resistance
  • Reliable wiping performance
  • Low replacement cost
IZW-50

GRAPHITE COATED

IZW-50G

Fiberglass construction with PTFE impregnation, additional wax treatment and graphite coating to reduce initial friction during wire wiping.

  • Economical fiberglass construction
  • Reduced initial friction
  • Improved surface lubricity
  • Additional graphite lubrication

EXPERIMENTAL

Every wire galvanizing operation is unique. Even production lines using similar equipment and technologies may achieve different results with the same wiping pads. This is why developing new materials and constructions remains an important part of our work.

Our EXPERIMENTAL series explores innovative materials, braid structures, and impregnation technologies. One of our current developments features a basalt fiber outer braid, offering promising potential for improved abrasion resistance and thermal stability.

We invite interested galvanizing companies to participate in industrial trials of our experimental wiping pads. By evaluating different configurations under actual operating conditions, we can work together to identify the solution best suited to each production process.

BEYOND TRADITIONAL FIBERS

Traditional aramid and fiberglass yarns are widely used in industrial wiping pads. However, alternative materials such as basalt fibers offer promising properties that deserve further investigation.

Basalt combines high thermal stability with good mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, making it an interesting candidate for demanding galvanizing applications.

Our research focuses on:

  • Alternative high-performance fibers
  • Improved thermal stability
  • Enhanced abrasion resistance
  • New material combinations

EXPERIMENTAL WIPING PADS

Different material combinations and surface treatments allow us to explore new approaches to wear resistance and wiping efficiency.

Key Features:

  • Basalt-based fiber construction
  • High thermal stability
  • PTFE impregnation options
  • Optional graphite surface treatment

UNDERSTANDING THE PRODUCT CODE

Every IZOWIPE wiping pad has a standardized product code that identifies its construction and dimensions. The code consists of three elements: the product series, the construction type, and the pad dimensions.

IZW-XX a × b × L

  • IZW — IZOWIPE product series
  • XX — Construction type and material composition
  • a × b — Cross-section dimensions (mm)
  • L — Pad length (mm)

HOW TO PLACE AN ORDER

Once you have selected the appropriate wiping pad, simply provide its product code, dimensions, and required quantity. If you have specific requirements or need assistance choosing the right construction, our team will be happy to help.
